London Zoo comically respond to Ricky Gervais’ offer of his body

January 13, 2021

Ricky Gervais has offered his body to be fed to the Lions when he dies as he wants to give “something back to the animals”.

He has stated that his posthumous desire is for the lions at London Zoo to feast on his body.

Unfortunately for Ricky, the organisation has earlier this week denied his wish and has claimed that he would be ‘too gristly for them’.

The zoo’s COO, Kathryn England declined his offer and instead suggested that he can send a cash donation to support the lions. She stated ‘I suspect Ricky may be a bit gristly for our lions.

‘But we are struggling financially because of lockdown so if anyone wants to ‘give something back’ we welcome donations that will help us keep our lions fed on a more suitable diet.’

London Zoo’s Lions won’t be feasting on Ricky

Ricky revealed on the chat show Conan that ‘It would be good to be fed to lions at London Zoo. It would be good to give something back. We eat animals and destroy habits and at least then I could give something back.’

The Office and After Life star admitted that he chuckles at the thought of zoo visitors watching his corpse being eaten.

Ricky joked: ‘It would be amusing to see the faces of tourists when this fat, naked dead body is thrown out and as it lands some people go ‘is that the bloke from ‘The Office?’ ‘

The comedian also acknowledged that he ‘doesn’t care’ how he dies but hopes that it’s not an ’embarrassing’ death.

He said: ‘I’m resigned to it. We’re all going to die. I don’t care about being dead because I won’t know about it.

‘I don’t want to die alone or in agony and I don’t want to die an embarrassing death.’
